Hewett Prayer Letter April-June 2021

Dear Friends and Faithful Supporters,

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

In Recent Months

God has been so gracious and good to our little family over this past quarter and it’s hard to believe that half the year is gone already! In April we started the month off by preaching in one of our Who Will Go? Conferences in Greenfield, IN at the Victory Baptist church. We had the opportunity to preach alongside our dear friend, Missionary James Ruckman, and several other missionaries. That week we saw 4 people surrender to missions and we had a dear lady saved! Bless the Lord! The remainder of the month we were in several different churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.

In May we had two new monthly supporters take us on, we preached in a couple of new churches, and had the opportunity to preach once again at the annual Hope Of Israel National Conference.

June may have been one of the most physically taxing but rewarding months we’ve ever had! We were able to host our first ever Who Will Go? Missions Camp in Roanoke, AL June 7-11 and the sweet Lord exceeded all of our expectations! We had 117 total in attendance and God worked mightily. From young people to adults, we had the opportunity to preach missions, promote missions, and prepare for missions throughout the week. During that week we had two precious young people to surrender their lives to missions, one young man who received clarity of the specific people he is to go to, a young man surrendered to preach, and we had another young man get his life right with the Lord! Glory to His name!! The third week of June I went by myself to preach and teach at Cornerstone Baptist Church’s Wilderness Camp right outside of Mars Hill, NC. God graciously worked as we taught these young men wilderness survival skills and preach scriptural application along with each skill. Pastor Bo Wagner is wanting to do this camp again next year but on a much bigger scale!

On June the 30th Ezra had to have a very extensive and risky de-tethering surgery on his spinal cord. Over the last several years Ezra’s spine has bent into a 70 degree curve which had caused his hip to start dislocating and he had begun having back pain. His tethered cord was causing the continued damage so he underwent this detethering surgery so that we could hopefully get the ball rolling in straightening his back. At the writing of this letter we are a week post-op and it’s as if he’d never even had surgery! God has truly worked a miracle, once again, for our little Buddy! We will be significantly scaling back our meetings over the next two months to allow him to fully heal, which will take up 8 weeks. Once he is cleared from the neurosurgeon, Ezra will be put in a full body cast for 6-8 weeks in order to hopefully straighten his spine. Please continue to pray for Ezra and our family over this matter.

Upcoming Meetings

As of right now I have most of our Sundays in July and August booked, we will be preaching in our home church’s youth camp(Camp Victory) during the last week of July, and in August we have a week meeting in North Carolina along with three days of training with the Who Will Go? Team in Missouri. In September we will hopefully be back in full swing as a family on the road in several different meetings.

In the months to come Ezra is going to require more physical therapy and medical attention. To facilitate this need Sis Chloé and the children will be staying home more often. I am a firm believer that I need to be with my family as much as possible and still fulfill the ministry the Lord has placed us into. Next year, with the Lord’s leadership and willingness of the men we preach for, we are going to try and transition more of our meetings to Wednesday night-Sunday morning services. This will allow me to see the family at least four days a week and hopefully still take them with me every other week. Please help us pray that this change will be received well and allow us to continue to be fruitful in the ministry.

Tent Ministry

The week that August and September share, our team will be hitting the doors once again in the Indianapolis area! This year’s Gospel meeting will be on he north side of Indy and the churches there are already praying, fasting, and preparing for the Lord to work again!

As of right now we have $44,000 of the $150,000 needed for the new Gospel Rig! With our 5th wheel being totaled in June this need has become an even greater burden. People ask us often what we need and I can honestly say that this Gospel Rig is our greatest need! We’re still praying and believing that the Lord will provide the need by the middle of August so that we can buy the rig and go pick up the new gospel tent that was donated, before the North Indy Gospel Tent Meeting the first two weeks of September! He is able!

If you would like to give to this need please make checks payable to:
