By the grace of God, Chris Hewett grew up in a Christian home. His dad, grandfather, and brother are also preachers. On the night of September 19, 1999 at age 11, the Holy Ghost of God began to deal with Chris about his eternal destination. The Lord moved mightily in the service; saints were shouting, the choir was singing, and one 11 year old boy was under deep conviction! Before long, Chris knelt at the altar and asked the Lord to save him. A little less than a year later, on August 3, 2000, at the age of 12, God called Chris to preach the Word of God. Although he acknowledged his calling, Chris wandered along in his Christian life for the next few years.
In the fall of 2007, he and his best friend began reading their Bibles and seeking God. On March 22 of 2008 while praying with his friend, Grant Hardeman, in the altar at Ridge Road Baptist Church, these two young men had an experience that would change their lives forever. They surrendered, submitted, and were filled by the Spirit of God! Soon after, Chris began leading the youth group at the Ridge Road Baptist Church where his father, Dwayne Hewett, pastored. In March of 2009, Chris was ordained into the Gospel Ministry. At that time, Chris began preaching meetings locally and abroad.
In March of 2011, Chris surrendered to full-time evangelism. He met his wife, Chloé, a few months later at Faith Baptist Camp and they were married in June of 2012. The Hewett’s are now members of Bible Baptist Church in Rossville, GA under the pastorate of Rickey Gravley. Chris has been on staff as staff evangelist at Bible Baptist Church since September of 2011.
Chloé was raised in Eatonton, GA. She was invited to Calvary Baptist Church in September 2004, where she first heard the word “saved.” Through the course of several weeks, she heard the gospel preached and God began convicting her of sin. On Sunday, November 14 of 2004 at the age of 17, she heard a fiery message on Hell through which she envisioned herself going to that awful place. That afternoon when she got home, she went into her bedroom under Holy Ghost conviction and trusted the Lord to save her from her sin and take her to Heaven!
In May of 2011, Chloe’ graduated from Georgia College and State University where she received a bachelors degree in Special Education. She then went on to teach 3rd-5th grade special ed at the local elementary school. Although she enjoyed teaching and working with the children, her earnest prayer and heart’s desire was to marry a preacher, be a wife and mother, and a keeper of the home. God saw fit to answer her prayers! On June 28, 2012 she married the love of her life, who just so happened to be a preacher! Chloe’ now travels with her husband and delights in serving the Lord with him. She is also enjoying her role as a preachers wife, mother, and a keeper at “camper!”
Emeline Faith Hewett was born in February 2015 at 1lb 14 oz! She has grown a lot since her micro-preemie days! She brings so much sunshine into our daily lives! She loves to hear stories, draw pictures, and dress up like a princess, her favorite toys to play with are Calico Critters and her Pooh friends. Her favorite song is “At Calvary,” her favorite color is purple, and her favorite snack is fruit. She is so full of laughter and such a joy!
Ezra was born in July of 2017 with Spina Bifida, although he’s faced many obstacles, he has overcome a lot! He is such a ham! His smile is precious and his laugh is contagious! He enjoys cuddling, books, and playing with cars and trucks. His favorite song is “I’ve Got A River of Life-or Gush Gush” as he calls it! His favorite snack is peanut butter and his favorite colors are orange and blue. He is soooo sweet and such a cuddle bug!
