January-June 2020

Dear Friends,

Philippians 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you

We want to start this letter by saying thank you to each supporter, individual, and family that has so graciously given to our family during this difficult time in our world. Thank you all for your faithfulness, prayers, and support! We’ve been able to accomplish so much during this “quarantine time” for our Lord and it could not have happened without your faithful support!

In Recent Months

During the month of January we took our annual winter trip out west to labor alongside the dear church planters working in the upper Midwest. We were able to put on the 5th Annual Winter Fellowship at the Elbow Lake Baptist Church in Elbow Lake, Minnesota with church planters from across the upper Midwest. After the fellowship we were able to be at the Harvest Baptist and Victory Baptist Churches, both in South Dakota.

Once our Midwest trip was finished we flew out to Alaska to labor on the Prince Of Wales island at the New Hope Baptist Church. This was our first trip to Alaska and it was a great blessing! The trip was beautiful but also eye opening to the great need for the Gospel in the state of Alaska! Will you please pray for laborers in the upper Midwest, Alaska, and all over our world where the Gospel has never been preached?

When we finally made it back south we had meetings in Mississippi, Georgia, and Alabama. February started with a few days off before we traveled to the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to work with Missionary David Ballinger on the island of Bequia. This was the first international trip that our whole family has been able to take together and was a great answer to prayers! Ezra has progressed so much and made international travel so much more practical than before. Along with the family we were also able to take the largest group we’ve ever taken over seas! The two week tent meeting was absolute spiritual warfare but our God prevailed with several people being saved, including the son of the missionaries Bro Malachi Ballinger! Glory to God!

Once back in the states we had several meetings in Georgia and Mississippi before the shutdown. This shutdown has brought many difficulties but has proven to bring blessings as well. We’ve continued to try and minister during these uncertain days. Much of our preaching has been via Facebook live, Zoom, YouTube, and even Marco Polo! God has allowed us to preach in the Philippines, Virginia, Georgia, and Mississippi all via internet! In May we traveled to North Dakota to preach our first revival since the shutdown started. Since then our travels have slowly started back up with meetings in Georgia and North Carolina. Being off the road has given us much time to write, do street ministry, put out content that we’ve wanted to put out for some time, and some much needed time ministering to our family.

Family

The family was glad to travel to Alaska and Bequia but they were sure glad to be home when we arrived back in February. Emeline celebrated her 5th birthday while we were in the West Indies with a beautiful princess party! Ezra has absolutely been thriving in his development and we pray that he’ll be walking by the end of the year. On June 28th Sis Chloé and I will be celebrating 8 years of marriage! God is so good. This shutdown has allowed us to stay in the same place longer than any other time in our marriage! Along with ministry work we’ve planted a garden during our time off! This was my first garden in 12 years and its been a great blessing! Words cant explain how much we’ve enjoyed and needed this time together!

We’ve had three new monthly supporters take us on over these last few months and the support is greatly appreciated!

International Evangelism

We originally had two more international trips planned for this year to Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately this shutdown has greatly hindered the Gospel in many ways and we had to cancel both of our PNG trips for this year. Our heart aches that we’ve had to cancel these but we know that our Lord has a plan! We are already making plans to travel to Uganda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Papua New Guinea for next year. We know our Lord wants the Gospel to be preached in the regions beyond far more than we do and we’re trusting that He will make a way for us to do so!

Tent Ministry

The tent season is quickly coming upon us and we are absolutely thrilled! Lord willing, our team of 3 families(anther will be added in September) will leave out from Georgia on July 16th! From July 16th to September 11th we have three different evangelistic tent meetings scheduled in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dickinson, North Dakota, and Indianapolis, Indiana! Our team will labor alongside churches, pastors, and church planters in each of these towns for two weeks at a time. The first week is what we call the “work week” where we knock on doors for 6+ hours a day. All our labor is in vain unless the Lord moves and draws sinners! The second week we start under the tent on Sunday night and we preach the Gospel each night until Friday night. We have a week between each town for travel and rest but we try to be sensitive to the Lord and if He moves us to stay longer that is what we do! We want His will and we ask that you help us pray for this trip! We need protection, power, and provision! These trips cost us about $6,000 for fuel, campgrounds, advertisements, food, etc. please help us pray for these needs!

Who Will Go

As with many camps we had to cancel our Who Will Go Missions Youth Camp this year in June but we’re already making plans for camp next year! Lord willing, in the month of October we will be having two different Who Will Go conferences. The first conference will be a local church conference at the Rushville Baptist Temple in Rushville, Indiana and the second will be the 2nd annual WWG youth conference at the Faith Baptist Church in Spring City, TN! These two meetings are open to everyone and if you’d like to attend please email us for more info!

During the quarantine we were able to start a segment on our YouTube Channel/Podcast entitled “Missionary Mondays” where we interview a different missionary each week to highlight their different labors and lives. This project has been such a blessing and has sparked great interest in missions around the world! If you would like to hear or watch these interviews follow our Who Will Go page on Facebook and our channel on YouTube!

In closing thank each of you again for your love, prayers, and support for our family! We count it a great honor to serve our Saviour and look forward to what He’s going to do in these uncertain days.

In Christ,

The Hewett’s
