April – June 2017

2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

Dear Praying Friends,
What a wonderful year the Lord has given us thus far in 2017! We’ve seen many prayers answered, new doors opened, souls saved, and saints revived through the preaching of God’s Word. Glory to His name! This year we’ve already traveled 15,952 miles, been in 30 churches, several campmeetings/Bible conferences, and held meetings in 8 states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Minnesota.

IN RECENT MONTHS
chris hewett preachingIn January God allowed us to labor in the upper mid-west in two different meetings. We preached in the 2nd Annual Upper-MidWest Winter Fellowship held in Appleton, Mn where Bro Jodie Cole is pastor. During that meeting, many pastors and their families from around the upper-Midwest came for encouragement and fellowship. We then went to Elbow Lake Baptist church in Elbow Lake, MN where Bro Silas Clarke is the pastor and we preached a meeting for them! God is truly moving in the upper-Midwest!
In February we started the month off with Bro Keith Pressley and the dear folks at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Delta, Alabama for a week meeting. God opened some new doors in the month of February and allowed us to preach for Bro Chad Watson at the Glory Baptist Church and for Bro Jerome Hodge at the Victory Baptist Church.
In March we had the great honor of starting the month off preaching a full week of meetings for my dad, Bro Dwayne Hewett, and the folks at the Ridge Road Baptist Church! I can’t explain all that the Lord did that week and we are thankful to Him for His great blessings on the meeting! Later in the month, we were privileged to go and preach at the 3&20 Baptist Church in 3&20, SC where Bro Chad Bates is pastor. We ended the month at our home church’s Jubilee in Rossville, Ga! We are so thankful for Bible Baptist Church and that we get to work out of such a wonderful place!
In April we spent 4 weeks in youth meetings, Bible Conferences, and campmeetings. We had some great fellowship, heard some tremendous preaching, and God opened many new doors. Toward the end of the month, we were able to kick off revival efforts at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Al where our friend Bro Blake Foster is the new pastor.
In May God has richly blessed the preaching of His Word! We preached a meeting for Bro Jason Gilreath and the dear folks at the Berean Baptist Church in Trenton, Ga. during this meeting the folks at Berean paid to have our truck serviced for regular maintenance! What an answer to prayer this was! From there we went and preached in the Hope Of Israel National Conference and I must say the meeting was life changing! We heard preaching on prophecy, our burden for Israel was enlarged, and we were equipped to go out and evangelize God’s chosen people! We are ending the month here at Eldorado Baptist Church in Troy, NC where Bro Devan Madden is the pastor.

FAMILY
As many of you already know we are expecting a new little one in our family! Our son Ezra is due to make his appearance somewhere around July 18th of this year. In February we went in for a mid-pregnancy ultrasound and found out that our boy has spina bifida. This news was trying, to say the least, but God’s grace has truly been sufficient! Please pray that God’s will be done in our family’s life. We will be sending out another letter once he is born and we have more information on his well-being.
Emeline turned two during the month of February and it’s hard to believe she has been with us this long! We can’t explain the joy and gladness she brings to our home. We bless the Lord for entrusting us with this “little arrow!”
Sis Chloé is having a healthy and joyous pregnancy. I can’t explain what she means to me and this Gospel ministry the Lord has placed us in. Please pray for all of us in the days to come.

UPCOMING MEETINGS
The first part of June I will be finishing up our schedule before the baby comes. Due to the uncertainty of Ezra’s situation, I have decided that starting the 3rd week of June- the first week of August, I will not be preaching any multi-day meetings, but will be staying near home to take care of Sis Chloé and the babies. I will be preaching some Sunday meetings within a 2 hr distance from the Chattanooga area. If you are interested in a Sunday we still have 3 open. I thank the pastors who had me booked during this time for being understanding of our situation and allowing us to bow out of meetings to stay and take care of our family. My family is my first ministry.

TENT MINISTRY
As of right now, we have 3 Gospel tent meetings lined up for the remainder of the year. In August we will be holding a tent meeting with the Victory Baptist Church of Pukwana, where Bro Chris Cote is the pastor, on a Lakota Indian reservation just outside of Chamberlain, South Dakota. This will be a first for us and we are excited about the opportunity to preach the Gospel to the Native American people! The first two weeks of September we will be holding an evangelistic tent campaign in Sylacauga, AL with the folks of the Calvary Baptist Church where Bro Blake Foster is pastor! In October we’ll be laboring with three different churches in and around Perry, Florida for an area-wide Gospel tent meeting!  I can’t explain how these tent meetings thrill my soul!
We are also excited to announce that Evangelist Brian Davis and his family will be coming on full-time with the Evangelistic Tent Outreach part of our ministry! Bro Brian is a full-time evangelist out of the Denton, NC area and is working out of the Greater Vision Baptist Church. The Davis family is a huge answer to prayers for help in this part of our ministry! This is a spiritual, separated, and serving family that loves our Lord! Please rejoice with us over this answered prayer and new addition!
With the addition of the Davis family we have a great need for a 1 ton, dually, 4wd, diesel truck for the ministry. This is the greatest need we have as of right now. A truck like this would allow the Davis’s to pull the tent trailer and all travel together as a family and would give our family a vehicle to drive out west during the winter months. Please make this a matter of prayer! If you or your church would like to help with this need please send support to our PO Box with “Gospel Truck” in the memo.

INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISM
A few years ago I began to pray that the Lord would allow me the opportunity to begin going out of the country on a regular basis to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Towards the end of 2016, we started to receive phone calls and messages about doors that only God could have opened. Lord willing, the three weeks following Thanksgiving this year myself and another preacher will be traveling to the country of Papua New Guinea to preach the GOSPEL! Glory! While there we will be laboring with two American missionaries and a native pastor for the Gospel’s sake. Please help me pray for the spiritual, physical, and financial needs of this trip. We have also confirmed a two-week meeting on the island of Bequia in the Caribbean for March of 2018! I bless the Lord for giving us the desires of our heart!

We look forward to seeing you during the remainder of this year and laboring together for the Glory of God and the furtherance of the Gospel!

In Christ,
The Hewett’s
